How will I know if my request is being processed?

As soon as you make a request, theGiftsender will send you an SMS or E-mail informing you that your request has been received and is being processed.

How are Gift vouchers delivered?

You can choose, SMS or e-mail, based on your selection when setting up a reminder. This means that your recipient can receive an SMS or E-mail containing a personalised message, a secure unique serial number and the name of the participating retailers or service provider that will issue a physical gift voucher or card on redemption.

Are there any extra charges for your service other than the cost of the gift vouchers?

Yes, there is an administration charge of 10% of the value of the gift voucher, which is used to cover the cost of technology and bank charges.

What if I have made a mistake on my personal SMS message?

If you have made a mistake please contact us by email at info@thegiftsender.com, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, quoting your cell number and the recipient’s cell number. We will make any necessary changes on your behalf.

Where can gift vouchers be exchanged?

theGiftsender vouchers can be exchanged at participating retailers and service providers throughout South Africa. The SMS or E-mail gift voucher will inform the recipient of the outlet that has been chosen.

Do gift vouchers have an expiry date?

Most shopping centres will honour SMS or E-mail gift vouchers for twelve months from the date the voucher was dispatched. Please contact the shopping centre that the voucher is valid to confirm the expiry date.
